So I did some travelling to the US of A this weekend and on my plane ride home, I sat beside a busy executive businesswoman, complete with a Venti coffee from Starbucks, some tired looking hair and a stack of about 100 resumes. Over the course of our 40-minute flight I saw this woman speed through each resume, giving each one an initial glance – she spent less than 15 seconds on the front page after which, she’d brand them with a big NO or YES in the top right corner, often not reading the pages that follow.
