Cyan Solutions and the Public Policy Forum have had a great relationship for several years. So when it came time to consider a new direction for their website they contacted us to recreate their important online presence.
The new PPF website was required to be built on a content-managed platform. The site is updated on a daily basis with many people within the organization responsible for managing content. After taking this into consideration, along with their budget, we chose the open source CMS Drupal. Drupal was perfect for their needs and also flexible enough to accommodate future plans.

From our initial evaluation the PPF website contained many different types of content. All of which needed to be presented in a consistent manner throughout the site. Before any design or development was started, a detailed information architecture document was prepared for the client. Several versions later we had agreed upon an approach that addressed their goals of creating a modern and user-friendly experience.
Design requirements were very clear from the start. They wanted a design that was fresh and vibrant but more importantly it needed to be clean and concise. With the large target audience they want to appeal to, making sure it's easy to find what you're looking was essential.
This project turned out to be a great success for us and the PPF. We were under a very tight timeline to launch the site in conjunction with a large annual dinner they host for over 1500 guests. Cyan Solutions delivered on time and exceeded their expectations.

In order for the PPF to process event registrations and donations (one time and monthly recurring) they were required to meet PCI compliance standards for data security. Cyan Solutions helped the PPF obtain this compliance and also developed a custom solution to integrate their payment gateway.
One of the main goals for the PPF was to make their website appeal to a younger target audience. We recommended they use popular web services like the photo sharing site Flickr to host their event photos. Once they have created a new photo album on their Flickr account, they can easily connect it to an event page on the website through the Drupal backend.
