Working with a faith-based relief and development organization to rename and rebrand for broader reach to engage diverse communities.
PWRDF needed a new name and identity that would feel more accessible and inclusive to a broader, more diverse audience, while still honouring its deep Anglican roots and the strong emotional connection stakeholders held for the original name — all within a process requiring extensive legal, trademark and stakeholder review and input across multiple name options and careful cultural sensitivity.
Cyan ran a highly collaborative renaming process involving more than 50 stakeholders across 15+ meetings and workshops, researched and vetted over 200 name options, and landed on “Alongside Hope” with a new bilingual tagline. The team then built full brand guidelines, a new logo, a launch video, a redesigned website with domain migration, social templates, print ads, a refreshed newsletter template, and a wide range of branded merchandise supported by a dedicated online ordering store.
The organization now has a cohesive, modern identity that preserves its Anglican heritage while resonating with a wider range of supporters. The phased rollout — from a late-2024 announcement to an early-2025 public launch — was executed smoothly across every touchpoint, positioning Alongside Hope for continued growth and deeper community engagement.
From the beginning, the entire Cyan team were so attentive to our needs. They shepherded us through this process with kindness and sensitivity towards our mission. They took the time to listen to our donors, to our staff and volunteers who were contributing to the renaming process.
